Daniel P. WillettAttorney
In law school I thoroughly enjoyed classes in taxation, but was aiming for a career as a litigator, and for years didn’t give tax practice a second thought.
Early in my law practice I was approached by local clients who needed help with tax questions and return preparation, leading me to take classes for the CTEC certification, which led further into increasing my practice area to include tax matters. After some ten years of general law practice, including civil litigation in business law, contracts, property liability and immigration law, in about 2010 I decided to focus on tax practice, the most satisfying area of my law practice, where I felt I was making the most difference for my clients. I currently focus solely on taxpayer representation, State and Federal audit and US Tax Court representation. I have helped taxpayers deal with Federal, State and local tax issues in nearly every state, including Foreign Bank Account (FBAR) reporting and resolution and U.S. taxpayers living abroad, as well as citizens of other countries who find themselves needing to file or report US income.
